Weekly Blog

October 17th, 2017 - October 23rd, 2017

Thus far, I have had a fairly busy week. Outside of ISM we I have been preoccupied with my High School Homecoming, work, and spending time with my family and friends. Over the past week in ISM specifically I have been focusing on completing research, observation, and mentor visit assessments. While I have completed what feels like millions of these assessments, each assignment challenges me in new ways to think outside of the box and ponder with that may seem like mundane information and take away personal meaning. I typically find it difficult to correlate how the research I conduct affects me personally. Over my time in the ISM program, however, I have made improvements in this skill. In particular my research assessment was surprisingly informative. When reading through articles over trends in the marketing industry I began to generate ideas for my original work. I came up with what I feel are unique and beneficial ideas on how companies could utilize these trends into their marketing campaigns. The way in which these ideas came about was a friendly reminder that research always lead to an answer. The past couple weeks I have been digging and searching to find the perfect product idea however, when searching to find more about what interests me my ideas for my work are coming naturally. I will continue to research topics of interest to me and see where it will lead my original work.
