Weekly Report

April 11th,2017 - April 17th, 2017

This week was rather hectic considering the off days and four day weekend that are upcoming. While a minor detail, one lesson that I learned this week was to fully think through emails and responses to my mentor before I rush to send them. I have repeatedly scheduled mentor visits for the wrong day or times when I have previous obligations. For instance, this week I scheduled a mentor visit during my ISM period on Wednesday. When emailing that Wednesday was a good time for me, I made the careless mistake of not realizing Wednesday was a B-Day, therefore, I had pre-cal during the time I scheduled for the visit. After canceling the visit, I reminded myself the importance to fully think through all that is going on this week and to not make careless mistakes that I have been prone to in the past. Luckily, my mentor was very understanding and we scheduled a virtual meeting for Friday at 10:30, which again I scheduled during my ISM period, making yet another careless mistake in which I then realized we have this Friday off. This inevitably has no real significance since I will just call my mentor from home, except the reminder that I am continuing to rush into responses without taking the time to look at a calendar and understand my obligations for the week and the problem needs to and will be addressed.
