Weekly Report

February 7th, 2017 - February 13th, 2017

Yesterday I was able to have another mentor visit. During this visit me and my mentor discussed some of the grey areas within my final product and looked over my product proposal. On of the suggestions that my mentor made was to go deeper in my explanation of the “content library.” By doing this she said to think of a possible theme to help with the cohesion of my platform. We brainstormed some possible themes such as education level, profession, or personality trait. With this I think organizing my library into “packs” that users can choose from will make the over product more personal. Secondly we discussed the grey area in regards to execution. Creating a full functioning website with user interaction is impossible without coding abilities. Since I either me or my mentor are not a “coding wiz” creating this website spans out of our capabilities. An alternative, however, is to create a powerpoint portraying the “user experience” as if I was presenting this website to a digital company who would execute it. This powerpoint will include screenshots from a hypothetical website I will create that is not fully functioning, but will contain all the needed content. Overall, I have now gained a sound understanding of my final product and am excited to continue working on it!
