Weekly Report
January 30th, 2017 - February 6th, 2017
Over the past couple days I have been working on my final product. I am currently in the midst of conducting researching on personal branding and have enjoyed expanding my horizons on a topic that not only correlates to marketing, but to my future professional success. The research that I have found has lead me to reconsider my final product. I was originally hoping to create a “bidding website” but, after a lot of thought, I have come up with the idea of creating an online program where students can create their own personal brand for free. I will run this idea by my mentor at our next visit and get advice on which product she feels will allow me to be the most successful. Furthermore, the research that I have conducted has lead me to better understand what exactly a personal brand is and its upcoming importance for millennials. Personal branding is pertinent as consumers become more reliant on people rather than corporate businesses. Having a reputable brand allows one to build trust with the consumer and better their ROI (return on investment). Lastly, I have learned the importance of cultivating one's personal brand at a young age. Many students remain unaware of the idea that once a post is online, there is no way to completely erase it. This means taking heed to what is posted in not only college, but high school, to ensure a positive digital image to future employers.
